Speaking at a Radio program, Hojat-ol-Islam Hamid Mohammadi said a major part of developing the Quranic culture takes place in mosques and via mosques.
He added that mosques also have many social, art and cultural functions.
The cleric also referred to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s demand about training ten million Quran memorizers, which was made 11 years ago, and said the Leader is still pursuing the issue in different meetings.
He said the council has worked earnestly in the field of developing Quran memorization, adding that the necessary grounds for this have been prepared and a good budget has also been allocated for this purpose.
Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammadi added that one of the recommendations made by the Leader in this area is turning mosques into Quranic bases to encourage the youth and teenagers to memorize the Holy Book.
